Medical Panel Meets to Assess Late Artist's Doctor Three Years On

A medical board has convened to evaluate the responsibility of Aníbal Lotocki in the death of Silvina Luna, three years after the Argentine model and actress passed away, according to TN.

The panel is examining whether the substances injected by Lotocki, including a compound known as metacrilato, contributed to Luna's fatal health decline. TN reports that the board's findings will help determine the doctor's legal and professional liability in the case.

Luna died in 2023 after a prolonged illness linked to complications from cosmetic procedures performed by Lotocki. The model had publicly spoken about her deteriorating health before her death, which she attributed to the injections she received years earlier.

According to Filo News, the medical board has now issued a determination specifically about the metacrilato that Lotocki administered. The substance has been at the center of the case, with prosecutors arguing that it caused the infections and organ damage that ultimately led to Luna's death.

Jorge Dri, an expert serving on the medical panel, told America TV that the group's task is to evaluate exactly what Lotocki did. The panel's conclusions are expected to play a critical role in the ongoing legal proceedings against the doctor, who already faces multiple complaints from other former patients.

Flor de la V, a colleague and friend of Luna, recalled the emotional weight of announcing Luna's death on television, describing the moment as deeply impactful, according to Exitoina. Vito Rodríguez, a close friend, told Infobae that Luna "gradually faded away," leaving behind a legacy of awareness about the risks of unregulated cosmetic procedures.

The medical board's ruling will now be submitted to the court handling the case, where it could influence whether Lotocki faces additional charges or a revised sentence.
